Default Celebrity big Blubber at Golden GLOBE Awards

MOVIE beauty KATE WINSLET won two coveted Golden Globes yesterday — then fought back tears during a gushing acceptance speech.

The Brit, 33, was crowned Best Actress in a drama for her role in Revolutionary Road, directed by hubby SAM MENDES. And she took Best Supporting Actress for her performance in The Reader before giving her breathless address on a night of British triumphs.

Almost hyperventilating as she went on stage to collect her second prize, Kate apologised to the losing nominees, saying: “I’m so sorry ANNE, MERYL, KRISTIN and, who’s the other one? ANGELINA. Now, forgive me, is this really happening?” She covered her mouth with her hand but then gasped: “This is absolutely extraordinary. I have had an amazing couple of years.”

Acknowledging LEONARDO DiCAPRIO, her co-star in Revolutionary Road and Titanic, she said: “I love you with all my heart.”

She also thanked her husband for directing, saying: “Thank you for killing us every single day — I loved every second of working with you.”

Kate, who said she had a “habit of not winning”, told her children Mia, eight, and Joe, five: “Look, I won! Thank you for coming on this wonderful adventure with Mummy.” Pal RICKY GERVAIS — quoting a scene starring Kate from his TV comedy Extras — quipped: “Well done, Winslet — I told you, ‘Do a holocaust movie and it will come’.”

Kate, previously nominated five times without success at both the Globes and Oscars, was honoured for her roles as a woman in a crumbling marriage in Revolutionary Road and as a Nazi concentration camp guard in The Reader. Dad Roger, 69, said after her victory in Los Angeles: “I don’t think Kate expected to win both.

“She is still a kid to me and the reactions were very much Kate’s.
“The arrangement was she’d ring if anything good happened, and we got a call about 4am. “She was non-stop bubbly, which was lovely.
“She said, ‘You won’t believe it, I won TWO of the b****rs’. I’m so very proud and pleased for her.”

Kate’s win came in front of a star-studded audience which included MICKEY ROURKE, BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN, SALMA HAYEK,PENELOPE CRUZ,BRAD PITT with ANGELINA JOLIE, and High School Musical favourites ZAC EFRON and VANESSA HUDGENS.
