    99

    Kate Winslet

A highly versatile, beautiful and talented actress who takes big risks, Kate Winslet’s homicidal role in 1994's Heavenly Creatures helped launch a career full of astonishing achievements, her most recent one being her double win at this year's Golden Globes ceremony. Throughout her career, whether it has been in a classic British period piece like Sense and Sensibility or in a brilliant Charlie Kaufman screenplay like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Kate Winslet has consistently brought her A-game to the silver screen.

    January Jones

Nicknamed “Miss Thang,” the January-born and South Dakota-raised January Jones got her start as an Abercrombie & Fitch model before hitting the acting world. A role as a bank robber in the Bruce Willis-led Bandits earned her a shot as an angry lesbian porn star in 2003's Anger Management, after which she played Stifler's (Seann William Scott's) romantic interest in American Wedding.

January Jones now splits her time between television and movies thanks to roles in Tommy Lee Jones' award-winning The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, the football movie We Are Marshall and the critically lauded TV drama Mad Men. Earlier this month she was nominated for a Best Actress Golden Globe for her role in Mad Men.

    97

    Tina Fey

Tina Fey started on Saturday Night Live as a writer in 1997. She then joined the main cast, served as the head writer and earned three Emmy nominations between 2001 and 2003. In 2004, she wrote the screenplay for Mean Girls. In 2006, she created 30 Rock, which received the Emmy for Best Comedy Series that same year.

2008 was Tina Fey's time to shine. She won three Emmy Awards and one Golden Globe, all for her acting and writing work on 30 Rock. At election time, her striking resemblance to Sarah Palin made her an SNL fixture once again, and provided the show (and her career) with a gargantuan boost. And 2009 got off with a bang, as Tina took home one Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series and a second for Best Television Series

    Ana Ivanovic

Though barely in her 20s, Ana Ivanovic’s growing reputation as one of her generation’s finest tennis players has effectively transformed her into a role model for women of all ages. She’s been shattering records since kicking off her professional career just a few short years ago, and her current rank as the fifth most successful player within the Women's Tennis Association certainly reflects her impressive abilities on the court. It’s consequently not surprising to note that Ana Ivanovic has deftly established herself as one of the sport’s most familiar faces, placing her side-by-side with such iconic figures as Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova.

    95

    Elizabeth Banks

As a wee one, the lovely Elizabeth Banks competed on Nickelodeon's Finders Keepers and, once Hollywood found her, it had every intention of keeping her. While climbing the ranks, she used her girl-next-door appeal well as office babe Betty Brant in the three Spider-Man films, and then she got naughty as a bookworm with a wild side in The 40 Year Old Virgin.

2008 saw Elizabeth Banks in no less than seven projects, the most noteworthy of which include the silly comedy Role Models, the politically minded W. (in which she played First Lady Laura Bush), and Kevin Smith's hilarious Zack and Miri Make a Porno (in which she played a broke roommate-turned-porn star). She opened 2009 with a role in The Uninvited

    94

    Sophie Monk

Unlike the majority of reality-show contestants, Sophie Monk has successfully managed to parlay her brief run on a popular reality series into a flourishing career within the entertainment industry. Her stint on the Australian version of Popstars led to a lucrative run within the girl band Bardot, and although the group broke up in 2002, Sophie Monk subsequently released a well-regarded solo album entitled Calendar Girl. As if that weren’t enough, Sophie Monk has also established herself as a promising up-and-coming actress, with appearances in such movies as 2006’s Date Movie and Click under her slender belt.

    93

    Emma Stone

Though she’s only been in the business since 2005, Emma Stone has quickly amassed a small yet potent resume that’s effectively established her as one of the most promising up-and-coming comedic actress to come around in quite some time. She started out her career by taking on one-episode guest spots on shows like Malcolm in the Middle and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, but it was her scene-stealing work as the object of Jonah Hill’s affections in the 2007 smash Superbad that firmly established her as a new face worth watching.

    92

    Alicia Keys

The mean streets of Hell’s Kitchen have produced their fair share of thugs and lowlifes. However, on January 25, 1981, the planets aligned and a beautiful, angelic soul rose from the urban decay. She was named Alicia Augello Cook, but we know her as Alicia Keys. She began playing the piano at age 7 and quickly showed a deft musical ear. So deft, in fact, that she left university after just four weeks to focus on music. That appears to have been a good decision -- she has since sold over 30 million albums worldwide and has the only duet in Bond soundtrack history to her credit (the theme song to Quantum of Solace).

    91

    Danica Patrick

Danica Patrick initially became interested in racing cars at age 10, when her sister started go-karting. In due time, Danica was the only Patrick still involved in the sport, and as a teenager she eventually placed second (a first for a woman) at the Formula Ford Festival in England.

A return to the U.S. and a spot with Rahal Letterman Racing led Danica Patrick into the Indy Racing League in 2005. Despite bettering her rank each year, Danica Patrick drew criticism from the male-dominated league, but she silenced her critics when she joined Andretti Green in 2007, and she went on to enjoy a spectacular 2008.

    90

    Britney Spears

She’s sold more than 83 million albums, has more money in the bank than Luxembourg and is the mother of two healthy boys -- so why do we all feel sorry for Britney Spears? In just a few short years, she’s gone from the top of the charts to the bottom of the barrel. As her personal life unraveled, the unrelenting paparazzi recorded her every move and an insatiable public devoured every awkward moment. It was a situation that would have driven most people to do a lot worse than shaving their heads, but Brit has always shown an amazing resilience. You can’t keep a bad girl down.

    89

    Nadine Velazquez

There’s little doubt that maids the world over owe Nadine Velazquez a debt of gratitude, as the actress has single-handedly infused the profession with a jolt of unexpected sensuality with her irresistibly sultry work as Catalina on My Name is Earl. The NBC series has proved instrumental in cementing Nadine Velazquez’s reputation as one of the small screen’s sexiest icons, and her role in 2008’s made-for-television movie Husband for Hire effectively perpetuates that image. It’s certainly an impressive turnabout for an actress previously best known for appearances in entirely forgettable efforts, including 2004’s Eddie Griffin action flick Blast and the needless 2005 House of the Dead sequel.

    88

    Leona Lewis

At the BRIT School in London, Leona Lewis excelled on the guitar and piano, and was writing songs by the time she was 12 years old. After saving up to pay for recording time, she produced her demo album, Twilight, and with a boyfriend's encouragement, she tried out for The X Factor.

After she became the first female on The X Factor to win a record deal, Leona Lewis's first single, "A Moment Like This," was released. The single was downloaded 50,000 times in the first 30 minutes it was available online, and went on to become the most downloaded song in 2006. The complete album, Spirit, hit North America in 2008, leading to even more fanfare and recognition for this talented Brit.

    87

    Torrie Wilson

Torrie Wilson overcame her extreme shyness through athletics and modeling, but a six-year battle with eating disorders nearly stopped her career before it could start. Once recovered, she turned to fitness competitions, winning the 1998 Miss Galaxy competition and joining World Championship Wrestling on TV a year later.

Torrie Wilson's WCW reign included stops on The Invasion, where she fought Stacy Keibler in lingerie, and SmackDown!, which saw her romancing Carlito. Injuries in 2008 sent Torrie Wilson into retirement, but she remains active in wrestling culture and in the pursuit of her own goals

    86

    Leryn Franco

Born in Paraguay with beauty and athleticism is her genes, Leryn Franco pursued sports and modeling simultaneously. Sports led her into javelin and a career best as the 2004 under-23 national champion. In her first Olympics in 2004, Leryn Franco proved to be a disappointment, finishing last.

Despite her athletic inconsistencies, Leryn Franco has used her Olympic exposure to further her modeling career. She's competed in the Miss Bikini Universe Pageant and the Miss Paraguay Pageant. In 2008, she got a second chance at the Olympics and simultaneously started a new chapter in her modeling pursuits.
