How To Handle A Buddy Who Cant Handle His Booze

Maybe it’s your chance to finally converse with that girl you’ve seen at your friend’s parties before; or maybe it’s the chance to have a drink with the boss about that raise you deserve. Whatever time it is, this is your chance to make your move, that is, until he shows up: your buddy who can’t handle his booze.

Unfortunately, whenever he shows up it’s instant embarrassment as he slurs, spills and swears his way through the night. At some point, it becomes clear that he’s with you and now it’s time to say goodbye to that raise and watch Miss Hottie walk off with someone else -- all because you’re the guy who can’t handle the buddy who can’t handle his booze.

Here’s how to correct a bad night before it even begins

    Keep him corralled

Your blitzed bro is most dangerous when he’s “off his leash” and wandering about. In order to handle the buddy who can’t handle his booze, you need to keep him at the same table or in the same section of the house all night. This will avoid him making an *** of himself, offending somebody and causing your night to end early and badly. Use what he likes to keep him tied to one spot. If you manage to get him home (because you can't sufficiently entertain him with bar tricks), pop in his favorite movie (even better, his favorite series on DVD), fire up the game console or put on the CD that will have him rocking out alone. Keep him contained like an accident-prone kid you’re stuck babysitting.

    Buy his drinks

Like a machine, your plowed pal’s antics run on fuel, which is another name for alcohol. Control what he drinks and you control him. Start with filtering out unnecessary shots. If you know tequila has him pinching the ladies and growing liquid muscles, get him watered down shots or something completely different. Let the bartender know you’re babysitting and he may be able to help with expert drink counterfeiting. If it’s an open-bar scenario or a house party, go get the drinks and alter them yourself. Handling the liquid courage is key if you want to handle the buddy who can’t handle his booze.

    Make him use his brain

A blasted buddy can be mentally corralled if you make him think. His brain is scrambled and thinking will force it to push past misfiring nerves and altered chemistry. He can be kept quiet and focused by asking him riddles and round-table questions. Ask him to fill in the blanks on stories that may be getting passed around. As he fires up the “Wayback Machine” to fill in memories, he’ll be so sidetracked with thinking that his antics will take a backseat. Keep him thinking rather than talking.

    Keep conversations positive

Because he’s so cooked, this fried friend of yours will go with the flow of the conversation. He’ll just take it 10 notches past where it needs to be! So, keep conversations positive. Be ready for some excessive bromance as he goes through how much he loves you and how he would die for you.

    Keep him fed and hydrated

Your hooched homey needs to have more in his system than Cuervo and Hynoptiq. The less fluid and food in his body, the faster it will absorb the alcohol. Vice versa, the more water and food in your boy, the longer it will take to reach full jackass. For every two drinks, try to slip in a glass of water. As the drinking continues, he’ll be so used to lifting the cup that he’ll barely notice the difference. Also, keep the pretzels, peanuts and other snacks up to his face. If you can get a large amount of bread or pasta into him before he begins his binge, that's even better. These two food items are excellent at absorbing alcohol, and eating in general will help curb his hangover.

    Get him home

When it’s time to go, you call it and get your ripped friend all the way home. The sooner he’s at the casa, the sooner he’s out of your hair. See him all the way, even inside the door. Make sure that any car keys are put away as he may be tempted to get back out and keep the party going.

Very very useful guide. Because some people dont know how to handle their drink, and sometimes they happen to become our friends too. It can be very frustrating.

    Thanks ma'am for this one.

this is the most difficult one maam. because most guys drink just so that they can talk aobut the bad things happen to them.
but it should be done to keep him in control
