Default Do Same blood group couples have disabled babies?

    Mam,
I'm not in a good mental condtition thinking about my girl friend. My GF has the same blood group like me. She has A+, Now my question is "Same blood group couples have disabled babies?". I need to add that I love my GF more than myself and by any means its not even possible for me to loose her. I can do anything and everything for her. Please give me some good suggestions....

not at all dangerous. blood groups aren't risky.

In layman terms, when we say that one should not marry among same generation siblings that is said in consideration of Genes and not Blood Groups, or genes shouldn't be similar but blood groups can.

we have just four blood groups, if it would have been problematic then we would have too many problems.

Please do not worry about this at all. Who in the world has been saying this to you? No, there is no truth in the fact that people of the same blood group cannot marry and have children.

Spot on....No marriages between siblings or people having same genes....Even animals avoid that.....Otherwise no problem...

Nothing serious besides Physiological jaundice that is found in most new borns from parents having same blood group, which can be cured by phototherapy treatment for 3-4 days, but no physical or mental abnormality may be the cause for same blood group.. so dont worry..

blood group similarity doesnt make any disability in babies. Only complication that can happen and which i know of is Rh factor. If your wife is Rh neg and you are Rh+. In your case itsnt also an issue.

this is true... i m a medical student n know of this condition...

if mother is rh-ve and father is rh+ve then the baby can develop a condition called "haemolytic disease of the new born".. its not seen much in the 1st child.. but the risk increases wit hd next child...

but since u r both rh+ve, it doesnt make a difference... in fact-- if ur child requires blood at any point of time, u both can help unless contraindicated otherwise...

No the babies won't be abnormal. Only if one parent has a POSITIVE RH factor and the other has a NEGATIVE RH factor (suppose one is A+ and another is A-), then yes it creates an incompatibility during the SECOND pregnancy and there are potential risks (first pregnancy is ok).... but in that case, during the course of pregnancy, a drug is administered to the mother, to rule out those risks. Regular consultation with the doctor will solve everything! But in your case, no risks of complications!
