Hottest NFL Cheerleaders' squads

The National Football League (NFL) is the largest professional American football league in the world. It was formed by 11 teams in 1920 as the American Professional Football Association (the league changed the name to the National Football League in 1922). The league currently consists of 32 teams. The fast action apart, the NFL is also popular for its teams' cheerleader squads. We take a look at 10 NFL cheerleaders' squads.

The Miami team's cheerleaders are known collectively as the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders. The company had its debut in 1978 as the Dolphins Starbrites. (The name referred to the co-sponsor, Starbrite Car Polish.) The cheerleaders' founding choreographer was June Taylor, famed colleague of Jackie Gleason, who led the squad until her retirement in 1990.

The New England Patriots NFL Cheerleaders are simply known as The Patriots Cheerleaders. In 2005, cheerleader Kristin Gauvin won Miss Massachusetts, in part from her local commitment with the Patriots.

The Washington Redskins Cheerleaders were second only to the Pittsburgh Steelers in professional NFL cheerleaders (1961; the Rooneys eliminated them shortly afterwards), but continue to be the longest running "Professional" National Football League cheerleading organization. Originally called the Redskinettes, they have cheered for the Washington Redskins since September 30, 1962.

In addition to touring with the football team, they have also performed around the world. The Washington Redskins Cheerleaders were also the first cheerleaders in the NFL to form an alumni association.

The Eagles have won three NFL titles and made two Super Bowl appearances, losing both (in 1980 to the Oakland Raiders and in 2004 to the New England Patriots). But, with the cheerleaders' squad they have, we can be sure that they have plenty of people cheering for them.
