If Bachchan can do it, Khan can, too. And it's official now: Salman Khan will host Bigg Boss next season. After a great season with the Big B as the host, the channel is hoping Sallu will keep audiences hooked in season four as well. Earlier, both Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar had been approached to host the show. But, sources said, things didn't work out in either case.

Interestingly, since Kaun Banega Crorepati will air on another channel in the same time slot, Bollywood's favourite bad boy will compete with Bachchan for TRPs. ''This is the standard procedure that channels follow,'' said Khan, shrugging off the comparison. ''I don't really care about TRPs. I just like connecting with my audience, which is why I'm doing more of television.''

Salman added, ''For me, television is a way of returning the love and affection that I have got from the audience for the past 22 years. Now they get to see me in the comfort of their homes and that too for free.''

Unlike Bachchan, who played the friend, philosopher and guide to inmates of the house, Khan will be his brutally honest and spontaneous best on the show. Of course, comparisons are bound to be made. Does that bother him? ''Why should it?'' asked Khan. ''He had his style and I have mine. Besides, Mr Bachchan is going to host another show in a different format. All these comparisons are nowhere in my mind.''







Interesting mix of contestants

All set to begin on Oct 3, reality TV’s most controversial show Bigg Boss promises to spark fireworks once again. The show that has a reputation of being full of sleaze and betrayal has once again drawn an interesting mix of contestants. And if reports are to be believed then the show’s season 4 has the most conflicting personalities ever seen in a reality show. What’s more is that some participants are hand picked by host Salman Khan.

Salman is the host

It is well known that Salman Khan is the host of the show. Bigg Boss 4 promo videos and host Salman Khan's punchline Andar Mazaa Bahar Mazedaar, Bigg Boss number chaar has already started to fetch the TRPs for the channel. Salman Khan, who is the new host said that he will try and match upto the standards set by previous hosts Shilpa Shetty and Amitabh Bachchan. "Shilpa Shetty and Amitabh Bachchan have done a great job in the past as the hosts of the show. I really respect them for that and I will try to match upto them," said Salman.

As per sources, the line up includes tainted star Shiney Ahuja, one-time wonder Bhagyashree, Salman’s find Sneha Ullal, daily soap queen Shweta Tiwari, Chunky Pandey, Bhojpuri star Manoj Tiwari, TV actress Sara Khan, ‘Ballika Vadhu’ Avika Gor, singer Shaan, ‘Bunty Chor’ Devender Singh and television beauty Simone Singh. Two other faces, who are not from glamour world but are likely to stay at the Bigg Boss house include Davinder Singh alias Bunty, who is a famous thief. Movie Oye Lucky Lucky Oye, was inspired on his real life story and famous bar dancer Tarannum.

Pamela Anderson one of the contestants?

As per buzz, Baywatch star Pamela Anderson will bring on the heat. Previously Bigg Boss seasons have seen international contestants like Jade Goody (Season Two) and Claudia Ciesla (Season Three) try their surviving skills in the house of back-stabbing and sleaze. A source was quoted as saying, "Talks are on with Pamela for the past one month. Bigg Boss is extremely keen on having her. Her most famous tele-series has the highest TRPs in Uttar Pradesh and the interiors.

Begins October 3

All the 14 housemates will be locked at the Bigg Boss house based in Lonavala for 85 days. They all will be under the surveillance of 35 cameras for 24x7. Bigg Boss is the Indian version of popular British reality show Big Brother. It has celebrity contestants locked in a house under the surveillance of multiple cameras for a period of three months without any contact with the outside world. Big Boss 4 begins on October 3 and will be aired at 9 pm.
