Default Working out Indoors v/s Working out Outdoors

    Working out Indoors

    1. Working out in the gym means working out in controlled temperature. This means, that the heat and humidity will not get to you and won’t leave you drained out sooner.

    2. Moreover, working out indoors will help you keep a tab of the speed you are running at, distance covered, your heart rate and calories burnt as you are working on machines like the treadmill or the cross trainer that gives you readings of these.

    3. The risk of being injured is lesser while you workout indoors too as the treadmill/cross trainer provide you with cushioning. Whereas outside, you are not sure of the terrain and could end up muscle injuries if you are not wearing the right kind of shoes. In the gym, you are also guided by a personal trainer who will tell you the right way to workout. And lastly, you are less likely to get injured if you combine strength training with cardio and that can be done only indoors.

    Working out Outdoors

    1. Working out outdoors is definitely fun. It gives you motivation to workout. It breaks the routine and makes working out exciting. There are lot of exercises one can do outdoors like playing a sport, swimming, yoga, running, cycling and even skipping. These exercises, especially if done early in the morning does a lot of good to our body and mind.

    2. It gives us our daily much needed dose of fresh air and vitamin D. The burst of oxygen also gives refreshes our mind and leaves us more energised. This is also because mornings are also usually free of noise pollution giving us peace and quiet.

    3. The outdoors gives us more space to workout. If the beach is close by, one could go there for a jog or practice yoga or pilates in a garden. Meditating outdoors is great option as you do not require any music to get you going but take in all sounds from nature instead.
