    Mommy power!

The only female Prime Minister we've ever seen, Indira Gandhi was the mother of two boys, Rajiv and Sanjay, who made it big in politics too. This powerful mom who carried herself with great poise was also the world's longest serving Prime Minister. The 'Iron Lady of India' is credited for India's growth and development in science and technology, farm irrigation and more. Indira Gandhi was definitely a symbol of feminism and a super mom for sure.

    Brave heart

Who else could we be referring to other than Rani Lakshmi Bai. This brave rebel (with a great cause - freedom) and firebrand was one of the big leaders involved in the National Revolt of 1857. But did you know that after the death of her own son, she adopted a boy named Damodar Rao. This in the days when we didn't have the Angelina Jolies of the world adopting by the dozen… And that's not all. She actually fought the British with her adopted son on her back. Fearless, we think.

    Yummy mummy

Who said single moms don't have what it takes? Sushmita Sen sure proved the critics wrong when she adopted Renee in 2000. The former Miss Universe not only proved to be a successful actress and entrepreneur but also a dedicated mom. This year, Sush adopted Alisah, another baby girl. Hats off to her!

    Timeless mom

If you've been trying to have a baby for a couple of years now, don't give up. The world's oldest mother Omkari Panwar from India gave birth to twins at the age of 70!!! Yes, you read right - 70! You would think she would have been worried about how she would look after them and all, right? But here's what she said - "If I am the world's oldest mother it means nothing to me. I just want to see my new babies and care for them while I am still able".

    Great expectations

This mommy takes the cake. With 16 pairs of twins, 7 sets of triplets and 4 sets of quadruplets between 1725 and 1765, in a total of 27 births. Valentina Vassilyeva, a Russian peasant became the mother with the most number of births. And you thought 3 children was more than a handful!!

    Baby mama!

It's funny how we think at 30 you are still too young to have a baby. So this definitely comes as a shocker. This girl turned mommy when she was still a child herself - at the age of 5. Shocked huh? Well, Lina Medina from Peru had a disorder known as precocious puberty and became the world's youngest recorded mother when she gave birth to a baby boy on Mother's Day of 1939. Her baby was raised as her brother and only discovered that Lina was his mother when he was 10.

    Laws of motherhood

An exceptional woman and the first judge of the Delhi High Court, Leila Seth was also the first woman to become Chief Justice of a state High Court, at Shimla! And I'm sure you know whose mother she is. None other than famous novelist and poet Vikram Seth. Talk about being able to manage a booming career and motherhood with panache.

Too man to be a mommy?
Well, this dude (or should we say dudette) defied the very laws of nature by becoming the world's first male mother. Thomas Beatie, born a woman, now lives as a man in Oregon after surgery and hormone treatment. However, he kept his female organs and thereby his reproductive organs. So when his wife Nancy couldn't have a baby, he decided to have one for her.

Do you know of other moms who should make it to the Hall of Fame? May be yours?
    Definitely Yours!!

Live amongst people in such a manner that if you die they weep over you and if you are alive they crave for your company.
