Have used this one.... The 3D rendering is very good and very easy to use too......

depends upon ur use.....this list contains some apps that are specific in nature e.g. for scene creating, character modelling, architectural design, etc. I had used Blender from the list, its small yet powerful but not easy to use

1. DoubleCAD XT (Best Alternative)
2. progeCAD 2009 (Interface similar to AutoCad)
3. AllyCAD (Its good but only 300KB drawing size limit)

all of these can open the .DWG files and write over them
