Being away from your significant other can be difficult, despite the ability to talk or write there are still some things you can’t do without them there. Kissing may no longer be one of them though, thanks to students from Japan’s University of Electro-communications who have created an online kiss transmission device.
The person using the device – who is clearly desperate for physical contact at this point- uses their tongue to move a piece of plastic attached to a box, simulating a kiss that is then sent over the internet to a partner device which their partner is using.
So, as an article from CrunchGear explained, if you move your tongue to the left, for example, the plastic moves in the same way on the other person’s device.
Right now, the device is still pretty basic, but the creators hope to make the it more realistic “as the sense of taste, manner of breathing, and moistness of the tongue are all important aspects of a kiss that have yet to be recreated,” according to DigInfo.
No worries for those who don’t have a special someone to use the kiss transmitter with, the plan is to have celebrities record their kissing techniques so they can be sold, because the whole thing wasn’t strange enough in the first place.
