Sehwag rested, India opt to bat

Toss India chose to bat v West Indies

With the series already in the bag and the high-profile tour of Australia coming up, India made a slew of changes to their line-up. Three players in the squad for the Australia Tests sat out: Virender Sehwag after his record-shattering 219 in Indore, R Ashwin who has become a crucial part of the Indian XI in all three formats, and fast bower Vinay Kumar, who has done a reasonable job with the new ball all series.
In news that will excite his legion of fans, Irfan Pathan returns to the line-up after nearly three years on the sidelines. And two young batsmen who haven't had a chance all series, Ajinkya Rahane and Manoj Tiwary, get an audition for the Australia tri-series.

The West Indies line-up was also altered, though these were forced changes. Danza Hyatt and Ravi Rampaul were both injured, giving spinner Anthony Martin a chance and batsman Jason Mohammed a debut.
Amid the shake-ups, one thing remained constant - India won the toss yet again, making it five out of five this series. Gautam Gambhir showed no hesitation in choosing to bat, as he expected the spinners to get some assistance in the evening.
India 1 Gautam Gambhir (capt), 2 Ajinkya Rahane, 3 Virat Kohli, 4 Rohit Sharma, 5 Suresh Raina, 6 Manoj Tiwary, 7 Parthiv Patel (wk), 8 Ravindra Jadeja, 9 Irfan Pathan, 10 Abhimanyu Mithun, 11 Rahul Sharma

West Indies 1 Lendl Simmons, 2 Kieran Powell, 3 Marlon Samuels, 4 Jason Mohammed, 5 Kieron Pollard, 6 Denesh Ramdin (wk), 7 Andre Russell, 8 Darren Sammy (capt), 9 Kemar Roach, 10 Sunil Narine, 10 Anthony Martin
