    Wink Hat tricks in ODI's

    Dan Christian vs Sri Lanka on March 2, 2012 Christian became the fourth Australian bowler to take a hat-trick in ODIs when he struck in the 44th over of Sri Lanka's innings at the MCG in a Commonwealth Bank tri-series match to remove Thisara Perera, Sachithra Senanayake and Nuwan Kulasekera in successive balls. Perera was brilliantly caught by Mike Hussey at deep midwicket was the first of Christian's hat-trick victims and then the Australian all-rounder trapped Senanayake and Kulasekara plumb in front to spark off wild celebrations.

    Lasith Malinga vs South Africa on March 28, 2007; vs Kenya on March 1, 2011 and vs Australia on August 22, 2011 The Sri Lankan slinger is the only bowler to take a hat-trick thrice as well as taking four wickets in four balls. The first of Malinga's hat-tricks came against South Africa in a Super Eights match of the 2007 World Cup at Guyana. The Proteas were cruising at 206-5 chasing a target of 210 when Malinga burst into life taking the wickets of Shaun Pollock and Andrew Hall from the last two deliveries of the 45th over; and then dismissing Jacques Kallis and Makhaya Ntini in the first two deliveries of the 47th over as South Africa slipped to 207-9. They managed to win the match by one wicket but Malinga was named joint Man-of-the-Match along with South Africa's Charl Langeveldt. Malinga's second hat-trick came against Kenya in a group match of the 2011 World Cup at Colombo's R Premadasa Stadium. He took 6-38, including that of his hat-trick victims Tanmay Mishra, Peter Ongondo and Shem Ngoche as Kenya was bundled out for 142; Sri Lanka won the match by nine wickets and with 188 balls to spare. The third of Malinga's hat-tricks also came at the R Premadasa Stadium when he dismissed Mitchell Johnson, John Hastings and Xavier Doherty in the second, third and fourth deliveries of the 46th over. Sri Lanka chased down the target of 212 in the 47th over as they won by four wickets.

    Wasim Akram vs West Indies on October 14, 1989 and vs Australia on May 4, 1990 The legendary Pakistan fast bowler took his first hat-trick when he clean bowled Jeff Dujon, Malcolm Marshall and Curtly Ambrose as his team edged West Indies by 11 runs at Sharjah. Akram repeated the feat at the same venue less than seven months later as he again clean bowled Merv Hughes, Carl Rackemann and Terry Alderman in Pakistan's 36-run win over Australia.

    Waqar Younis vs New Zealand on December 19, 1994 The Pakistan pacer clean bowled Chris Harris, Chris Pringle and Richard de Groen as New Zealand was bowled out for 172 at East London, South Africa. Pakistan won the match by five wickets.

    Kapil Dev vs Sri Lanka on January 4, 1991 One of cricket's best all-rounders achieved the feat when he dismissed Roshan Mahanama, Rumesh Ratnayake and Sanath Jayasuriya in India's seven-wicket win over Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup final

    Saqlain Mushtaq vs Zimbabwe on November 3, 1996 and vs Zimbabwe on June 11, 1999 Saqlain had Grant Flower and John Rennie caught behind by Moin Khan before he had Andy Whittall caught by Saleem Malik to complete his first hat-trick in ODIs. He took his second hat-trick against the same opposition in a Super Sixes match of the 1999 World Cup at The Oval when he took the last three wickets of Henry Olonga, Adam Huckle and Pommie Mbangwa as Pakistan thrashed Zimbabwe by 148 runs

    Eddo Brandes vs England on January 3, 1997 The fast-medium bowler took England's first five wickets to fall as he led Zimbabwe to an emphatic 131-run win at Harare Sports Club. Brandes dismissed Nick Knight, John Crawley and Nasser Hussain to complete his hat-trick and then had Alec Stewart and Mike Atherton caught behind by Andy Flower as England slipped to 54-5 in their run chase of 250

    Chetan Sharma vs New Zealand on October 31, 1987 The fast-medium bowler took the first hat-trick in World Cup history when he clean bowled Ken Rutherford, Ian Smith and Ewen Chatfield as India bowled New Zealand out for 221 before Sunil Gavaskar's 103* led the hosts to a nine-wicket win

    Aaqib Javed vs India on October 25, 1991 The Pakistan pacer trapped Ravi Shastri, Mohammad Azharuddin and Sachin Tendulkar plumb in front as his team won the Wills Trophy final at Sharjah by 72 runs. Aaqib was also the chief destroyer in India's innings and finished with figures of 10-1-37-7

    Chaminda Vaas (twice) vs Zimbabwe on December 8, 2001 and vs Bangladesh on February 14, 2003 Vaas blew Zimbabwe away with figures of 8-3-19-8 as the visitors were bundled out for a lowly 38 in 15.4 overs at Colombo's Sinhalese Sports Club Ground. His hat-trick victims were Stuart Carlisle, Craig Wishart and Tatenda Taibu. He took his second hat-trick when he dismissed Hannan Sarkar, Mohammad Ashraful and Ehsanul Haque in the first three deliveries of a group match against Bangladesh in the 2003 World Cup. Vaas finished with 6-25 as Bangladesh was bowled out for 124 before half-centuries by Marvan Atapattu and Sanath Jayasuriya saw Sri Lanka thump their opponents by 10 wickets with 173 balls remaining

    Brett Lee vs Kenya on March 15, 2003 Lee dismissed Kennedy Otieno, Brijal Patel and David Obuya in the fourth over of a Super Sixes match of the 1999 World Cup as Kenya was all out for 174. Australia won the match by five wickets, but it was Kenya's left-arm spinner who walked away with the Man-of-the-Match award for outstanding figures of 8.2-6-7-3.

    James Anderson vs Pakistan on June 20, 2003 Anderson (4-27) wrapped up Pakistan's innings of 185 at The Oval when he dismissed Abdul Razzaq, Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Sami. Marcus Trescothick then starred with his 55-ball 86 as England won the match by seven wickets and with 28 overs remaining.

    Mohammad Sami vs West Indies on February 15, 2002 Sami wrapped up Pakistan's 51-run win at Sharjah when he dismissed Ridley Jacobs, Corey Collymore and Cameron Cuffey. Earlier, Shoaib Malik's 111* helped Pakistan reach a total of 232

    Anthony Stuart vs Pakistan on January 16, 1997 Stuart had a match to remember at the MCG when he took the first five wickets to fall, including a hat-trick, as Pakistan collased to 29 for 5 before staging a recovery and being bowled out for 181. Stuart had figures of 10-1-26-5 and his hat-trick victims were Ijaz Ahmed, Mohammad Wasim and Moin Khan as Australia won the match by three wickets in the last over
