1 cup whole urad daal (urad sabut)
    1tbsp Red kidney beans (Rajma)
    1 onion finely chopped
    1 tomato finely chopped
    1" Ginger piece
    2-3 green chilies finely chopped
    chopped coriander leaves
    4-5 flakes Garlic paste
1/2 cup fresh stirred cream (malai)
    2tbsp butter
    1tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
    1/2tsp turmeric powder
    1/2tsp Garam masala
    Red chili powder to taste
    1/2tsp dhania powder
    Salt to taste

    METHOD

    • Soak rajma in water overnight.
    • Add water & little salt and pressure-cook Rajma and urad daal till soft for about 20-25 minutes. Mash and boil again for 15-20 minutes and add curd and cream to the daal.
    • Now in kadhai heat oil, splutter cumin seeds and add garlic paste, fry till light brown. Add onions and fry till golden brown.
    • Now add ginger, green chilies and tomatoes and fry till tomatoes soften.
    • Now add dry masalas (turmeric powder, chili powder, dhania powder & salt) and fry again for a moment.

    • Add daal and stir on medium flame. As soon as it starts boiling remove from the gas.
    • Sprinkle garam masala powder and garnish daal makhni with coriander and add butter.
    • Serve daal makhni hot. Goes well with laccha paratha, naan or rice.

    GARLIC BUTTER NAAN
Take all purpose flour [3 cups], add active dry yeast [1 tp]
add warm water [as required to make bit tight dough]
add salt to taste, sugar 1/2 tsp,....... set aside!
you can also watch this video :
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwBJ2...feature=fvwrel

now.....make balls from the dough, and roll them! sprinkle some chopped garlic and kneed it a bit and make naan shape rotis..

    heat the tawa....{pan]
put the naan on the tawa.

press it sightly with cloth or napkin.

    you can see small bubbles.
now turn the pan aside, so as the naan is over the direct flame..

    cook it uniformly..

note= do not make them too thick....

Recipe of the day : kadhai paneer

I'm going to state each step by showing it through pictures!

All you need is paneer [cottage cheese] cut them in your fav shape...

Now cut onions, tomatoes, like this....

    In a kadhai...or non stick pan...Heat clarified butter .

    Add bay leaf, cloves, cinnamon.
Then add onion, tomato, ginger paste.

Continue cooking it on medium flame till ghee/oil begins to separate.
add salt, red chilli powder, garam masala, dhaniya poweder, haldi [turmeric]

    Cook on low flame.

    Now add capsicums.

When the capsicum are done put off the flame.

    Serve with nan or paranthas..

    tasty kadai paneer ......

1 tip .. after adding paneer ..u should not cook more then 5 mins ..
it destroys paneer texture ..and make it spongy
    Thank you bala
