Ayushmann Khurrana, who made a smashing debut with Vicky Donor as an actor cum playback singer has recorded two songs in Rohan Sippy's Nautanki Saala. Of the two songs, one is a sad song while the other has the typical Punjabi flavor, Ayushmann style!

Talking about the songs, the film's co-producer Bhushan Kumar said that they wanted the sad track to be one step ahead of the famous 'Paani Da' number. He added that they have in all 8 songs in the musical film, of which two have been sung by Ayushmann.

Proud papa Shekhar is all set to direct laadli beti Kaveri’s first music video. We wonder whether the youngster is following in her mama Suchitra Krishnamoorthy’s footsteps…

For some time now, there has been buzz about Shekhar Kapur starting work on the sequel to his most successful film to date – Mr. India – but now we know what’s keeping the filmmaker so occupied, and why he’s delaying his much talked-about project. And no, it is not a follow up to Elizabeth, his Oscar-winning movie with Cate Blanchett. This is much closer to home…literally. We heard Shekhar has been busy grooming his daughter Kaveri, also encouraging her to come up with her debut music video, which he will direct soon. Wow!

Kaveri’s mother Suchitra Krishnamoorthy also tried her hand at a music video in the 90s; remember the song Dole dole? We know there’s nothing much to boast about where the song and her singing talent are concerned. But we should encourage Suchitra and Shekhar’s talented young daughter who has written, composed and recorded her first single, at just 12 years old.

Considering Kaveri’s inclination and passion for singing, we wouldn’t be surprised if she started her Bollywood journey singing for her papa’s much talked-about film, Mr. India 2? But will her voice suit the new and improved Sridevi? Let’s wait and watch… oops…listen!

Fevicol- Kareena's item in Dabangg 2

Fans and critics are eagerly waiting for the release of Dabangg 2 to not just enjoy Salman Khan as 'Chulbul Pandey' again but also to see newly married Kareena Kapoor Khan groove to an item number in the movie.

This is apparently the first movie-related work that Kareena will be doing after her grand wedding with Saif Ali Khan. What is more, the song has been titled "Fevicol". That is right, the adhesive product that comes up with witty ads and catchy one-liners is the title of the song.

After Munni badnaam hui, Sheila ki Jawani, Jalebi bai, and Halkat Jawani, which also starred Kareena, fans will now watch an item number named Fevicol on the big screen. HT reports that Kareena has been working very hard to improve her fitness and get back her stunning figure after the wedding.

Rihanna Ties Madonna For Most #1 Singles

'Diamonds' goes to #1 on the Hot 100, giving Rihanna her 12th chart-topper, a mark that ties her with Madonna.

Rihanna may not know much about shepherding journalists around the globe, but when it comes to making smash hits, well, she's quickly becoming an expert of historical proportions."Diamonds," the first single off her brand-new Unapologetic album, will rise to #1 on next week's Billboard Hot 100, giving Rihanna her 12th chart-topping single, a mark that ties her with Madonna and the Supremes for the fourth-most #1s in the 54-year history of the chart.
Rihanna Holds An In-Flight Press Conference For Her 777 Tour
According to Billboard, Rihanna now trails only the Beatles (20 #1s), Mariah Carey (18) and Michael Jackson (13 solo #1s) for the most Hot 100 chart toppers of all time, and, given that she's just 24 — and seemingly releases a new album every year — well, we think she's got a pretty realistic shot at overtaking all of them.

Rihanna also became the fastest female solo artist to accumulate 12 #1 singles, reaching the mark in six years and seven months ... that number trails only the Beatles (two years, four months) and the Supremes (five years, four months).

Rihanna scored her first #1 with 2006's "SOS," and has had several lengthy stays atop the Hot 100, including six weeks in the top spot with "Live Your Life," seven with "Umbrella," and the 10 she logged with 2011's "We Found Love." Her latest ascent to #1 took some time ... "Diamonds" had to overtake Maroon 5's ubiquitous "One More Night," which held the top spot on the chart for nine consecutive weeks.

Can Rihanna overtake Michael Jackson for most #1s?

One Direction Finds Home At #1 Spot

Earlier this year One Direction debuted on the Billboard 200 chart with 176,000 copies of their first album sold in week one, and months later their follow-up Take Me Home has clocked in the third-largest first week sales of the year with 540, 000 copies sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

This means that One Direction is now tied with Justin Bieber as the only artists to debut two #1 albums within the past 12 months.

Taylor Swift remained at #2 with an additional 144,000 copies of Red sold and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 Soundtrack debuted at #3 with 93,000.

Toronto singer the Weeknd breached the top five, pulling in at #4 with his major-label debut Trilogy, but Christina Aguilera had a disappointing first week, charting at #7 after moving only 73,000 copies of Lotus. Green Day's ¡Dos! landed at #9 with 69,000 sold, followed by Lana Del Rey's Paradise closing out the top 10.

Over on the iTunes album charts, "American Idol" winner Phillip Phillips commanded the #1 spot with The World from the Side of the Moon, while Swift's Red held at #2 and the "Twilight" soundtrack completed the top three. AC/DC's re-release of Back in Black and Led Zeppelin's Celebration Day managed to trump One Direction however, pushing Take Me Home to #7.

Cassadee Pope's "Over You (The Voice") had a big showing at #1 on the song's charts, with PSY's "Gangnam Style" holding tight at #2 and Ke$ha's "Die Young" at #3. Bruno Mars' "Locked Out Of Heaven" pulled in at #4 while Rihanna's "Diamonds" rolled in at #8, topping Pink's "Try" at #9 and another offering from "The Voice" at #10.

The Gangnam fever is gaining momentum, and fast in Bollywood. The latest B-towner who has fallen prey to Psy’s cheesy dance ishtyle is Sajid Nadiadwala. But are we hinting at a Gangnam performance by this filmmaker? No!

Gossip has it that Sajid is planning to make Salman Khan follow Psy’s famous footsteps in his upcoming movie Kick. And it’s not only the dance style, but also the beats of the song that might find their way into the movie.

To get the desi version of this Korean number completely right, Nadiadwala has planned to rope in Bappi Lahiri as the music composer. But birdies chirp that Salman is skeptical about getting the copyright issues, and so he has suggested that they use the popular tune, a tad slyly maybe, in the background.

Also, our feathered friends reveal that Sallu is planning to improvise the Gangnam style by adding his personal touch to it. By waggling something he hasn’t till now, perhaps? Wink, wink.

Well, we are definitely excited to know how this one shapes up. Aren’t you,

New Delhi: Psy’s infectious “Gangnam Style” video has just beaten Justin Bieber’s “Baby” to become the most watched video in YouTube, according to a tweet from the Korean singer.

He tweeted early on Saturday: #GangnamStyle just became the most watched video @YouTube!!

YouTube too made it official on Saturday claiming that Psy’s “Gangnam Style” is the most viewed video in its history.

Amazingly, it took Psy a little over 4 months to accomplish this feat while Justin Bieber’s “Baby” was uploaded back on February 19, 2010.

It is also the most liked video of all time with over 5.3 million likes.

Without a doubt, 2012 has been one of the most, if not the most, successful years for Priyanka Chopra in Hindi cinema. Priyanka has achieved not one but two Rs.100 crores hits with Agneepath and Barfi! as well as widespread critical acclaim for her sensitive portrayal of a patient with autism in Barfi! ( for which she has high chances of winning awards for at the major awards ceremonies in 2013). Barfi! was, also, selected as India's official entry to the Oscars adding yet another feather to Miss Chopra's cap.

If that was not enough, PC, also, made a successful foray into the international music scene - her debut single "In My City" (produced by Red One) featuring prominent music artist will.i.am was released earlier this year.

And now it seems Priyanka could be just a few steps away from being rewarded for her hard work by the prestigous World Music Awards.
A source has now revealed to HT that, “Her music has been liked a lot in the west. She has been nominated under three categories — Best Debut, Best Song and Best Video. Her collaboration with Will.i.am for ‘In my city’ has been received well.”

Priyanka will be competing for these awards against global music sensations, Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Madonna.

The source says, “It’s a matter of pride for an Indian artiste to be recognised and nominated alongside some of the best names in the world. Priyanka is absolutely delighted.”

On being contacted, Priyanka’s spokesperson confirmed the news. Voting is now open on the World Music Awards website.

Oscar-winning Indian composer AR Rahman's son Ameen gave his first public performance at the opening ceremony of 10th Chennai International Film Festival (CIFF) here Thursday. The 10-year-old Ameen performed a short medley on the piano from Mani Ratnam's 'Roja' to a full house here, while students from Rahman's KM music conservatory also entertained with exhilarating performances.

Members from KM foundation choir performed 'Al Maddath Maula' from Aamir Khan starrer 'Mangal Pandey' and two of Rahman's greatest Tamil hits from 'Thiruda Thiruda' and 'Kadhalan'.

The 10-year-old Ameen performed a short medley on the piano from Mani Ratnam's 'Roja'.

The event was led by Tamil actress Suhasini Maniratnam along with Tamil actor R Sarath Kumar, president, South Indian Artists Association and Tamil director Ameer and cinematographer SP Jananathan.

Speaking at the event, Sarath Kumar said: "This event wouldn't have been possible without the support of Tamil Nadu government and the relentless effort of Suhasini and her team".

"We've requested the state government to sanction us funds to have separate screening theatres to organize film festivals and encourage the development of arts," he added.

The eight-day long event will screen 154 films from over 50 countries. Out of the 154 films, 12 Tamil, 9 Indian panorama and 133 foreign films will be screened.

The 12 Tamil films will compete in a special category competition to be judged by Veteran Tamil actor Sivakumar, cinematographer BR Vijayalakshmi and national award winning Tamil director A Sarkunam.

The winners will receive trophies from megastar Amitabh Bachchan on Dec 20. The opening film of the festival was French drama 'Amour'.

The composer bagged the top honours at the 55th Asia Pacific Film Festival

Any appreciation for one’s work in the form of awards is always welcome for people in B-town. And it becomes all the more special when it is timely, and comes from prestigious quarters. Anurag Basu’s Barfi! is one such film which is already in the running for Oscars. And now, the film’s music director Pritam, who has made more news for the sources he gets ‘inspired’ from rather than his music, has won the Best Music Director award at the 55th Asia Pacific Film Festival held in Macau. And apparently, Pritam was the only nominee from India.

Another B-town denizen Wasiq Khan bagged the award for the Best Production Designer for his work on Anurag Kashyap’s gangster epic Gangs Of Wasseypur. And with the Ra.One director Anubhav Sinha sitting on board as a jury member, we can definitely say that Bollywood is going places when it comes to the film festival circuit!

Psy's "Gangnam Style" became the first video to hit a billion views on YouTube on Friday, marking a fresh milestone in the global craze for the South Korean rapper and his horse-riding dance.

The view counter attached to "Gangnam Style," which was only posted on the video-sharing site July 15, clicked over into 10 figures at around 1550 GMT, confirming its status as the most viewed video in the site's history.

"One billion views is an incredible number," said Kevin Allocca, YouTube trends manager, who attributed Psy's success "to the universal appeal of catchy music -- and er, great equine dance moves."

Psy has swept all before him in the past five months, hoovering up awards and scoring guest appearances with everyone from Madonna to the head of the United Nations.

The video and its singer have been given walk-on roles in major world events like the US presidential election and major maybe-events like the Mayan calendar-inspired speculation about looming global armageddon.

The timing of the one-billion views breakthrough dovetailed with a viral social network hoax that had the 16th century French seer Nostradamus apparently referencing Psy as a harbinger of the December 21 apocalypse.

And it came less than a month after the video took the all-time "most-viewed" title away from "Baby" by Canadian heartthrob Justin Bieber.

Bieber's effort was still in second place Friday with more than 812 million views.

"Perhaps what's most impressive about this feat is that it took just over five months to happen," Allocca said in a blog post.

"Congratulations to PSY, the flash mobbers, K-Pop fans and people who love fun across the globe," he added.

Although its imminent demise has been predicted many times, the Psy phenomenon has simply refused to die.

Every time it has looked like fading, another parody, another celebrity or even another world leader has popped up to administer some publicity CPR and restore it to health.

Rolling Stone put "Gangnam Style" at number 25 on its top 50 list of best songs for 2012 and labelled Psy as "Seoul Brother Number One." On the Billboard Hot 100 chart it peaked at number two.

The song -- which refers to a trendy Seoul district -- has spawned a mini tribute video industry and has been co-opted by an impressive roster of big names, including Chinese dissident artist Ai Weiwei.

It earned Psy a contract with Bieber's management agency and a number of assessments and projections have been posted claiming "Gangnam Style" has generated over $8.1 million in advertising deals.

And the public has joined in, with tens of thousands turning out for giant flashmob performances of Psy's horse-riding dance in cities like Paris and Rome -- even beauty spots like South America's majestic Iguazu waterfalls.

The quirky star, whose real name is Park Jae-Sang, has won adulation in his homeland for the global hit and was this month awarded one of South Korea's highest cultural honours, the Okgwan Order of Cultural Merit.

Psy hit a speedbump in the United States when anti-American views he voiced a decade ago caught up with him last month -- but he apologised and went on to perform at a "Christmas in Washington" gala attended by Obama and his family.

South Korea sees popular culture as a potent export force, providing international exposure for a country that still feels overlooked in comparison to neighbours China and Japan.

The government has spent substantial time and money supporting the so-called Hallyu (Korean Wave) of TV shows and pop music that has swept across Asia in the past decade.
    take care!
