    Big Screen TV

Unless you're stuck in the mid-1980s, this is a must at every sports viewing. It could be a plasma screen on an old-school cathode-ray TV, but size does matter! Your TV has to be big enough for half-drunk men to tell the score without squinting from 15 feet.

Besides, the bigger the TV, clearer the picture!

    Decent Sound System

Hearing is the next best thing to seeing, therefore you do need a nice sound system to complement your big screen TV. This comes in handy when you and your buddies listen to music during halftime/breaks. It's also required during those close moments when you want to clearly listen to what your favorite commentator's saying.

Again, you don't need anything fancy that'll wake up the whole neighborhood; just as long as it's loud enough to serve your purpose, your sound system's all good

    Food

Depending on the number of friends you're having over, arrange for the appropriate amount and variety of snacks. Popcorn and chips are all-time favorites, but you can spice things up with some local delicacies as well. Remember, spicier the better.

You should also make it clear if you're not going to serve food--but just snacks--well in advance or else you'll have a bunch of angry and hungry sports fans to contend with!

    Alcohol

Unless you're a teetotaler, we suggest you serve some kind of booze at your sports party. In fact, even if you don't drink, it's always a good idea to keep a few beers stashed in your fridge. Nothing helps a fan get over a grave loss faster than discussing it with his friends while half drunk!

Although, we must warn you, if you're serving alcohol, make sure you put your fragile showpieces and sports memorabilia away when you're friends are around

    Halftime Activities

This is a very important part of the soiree. It's the part before the second act when you need to ensure your guests are not bored and simply waiting for the action to restart. Activities could include anything from foosball and darts to beer pong. Just make sure no one's quietly sitting in a corner--not unless their team's losing badly!

While any of these activities is always a great idea, rolling in more sedate circles, discussing the game on hand is also a great idea!
