    Laurent Fignon


    Laurent Fignon, a French professional bicycle rider is credited for winning Le Tour de France twice. He won both the titles in 1983 and 1984. He narrowly missed winning it for the third time in 1989 by 8 seconds, the closest margin ever to decide the tour.

    Lucien Petit-Breton

    Lucien Petit-Breton, yet another Frenchman bagged two Tour de France wins, in 1907 and 1908. He became the first rider to win Le Tour de France twice. However, his career was short-lived as he was drafted by the French army during World War I and died in 1917, aged 35.

    Miguel Indurain

    Miguel Indurain, a Spanish cyclist, is one of the very few professionals to win Tour de France five times in a row! He won the tour from 1991 till 1995. Being on the bulkier side--weighing 80 kgs--and standing tall at 6 ft 2 in, he was aptly nicknamed 'Miguelon' or 'Big Mig'.

    Eddy Merckx

    Edouard Louis Joseph or Baron Merckx or Eddy Merckx is a Belgian professional rider. Considered to be one of the most successful riders of all time, Eddy has bagged five Tour de France titles in his career. In 1969, he won the general classification (yellow jersey), points classification (green jersey) and the mountains classification. No other rider has achieved this triple in Le Tour de France.

    Lance Armstrong


    This guy rules Tour de France. Having won seven titles in his career, after battling testicular cancer is a marvelous feat in itself. He was named Sportsman of the Year by Sports Illustrated in 2002. His name was synonymous with the yellow jersey for most of his illustrious career.
