A voluntary organisation on Thursday moved a petition before a local court seeking action against filmmaker Karan Johar and singer Shreya Ghoshal, among others, for using objectionable words against a Hindu deity in a song featuring in the upcoming Bollywood flick, 'Student of the Year'.

Shri Vision Social Empowerment and Welfare Association secretary Manish Vishnoi said in a release that the petition was moved before judicial magistrate first class against Johar, Ghoshal, Gauri Khan, lyricist Anvita Dutt, musician Vishal Shekhar and other artists of Dharma Production and Sony Music. He claimed that the movie features a song that uses 'obscene' word for Radha and thus causes hurt to the religious sentiments of the Hindu community.

"Names of Radha and Krishna are being misused to promote the song," Vishnoi claimed. The petitioners appealed to the court that the words should be dropped from the song and appropriate action taken against the respondents.
