macbook and ipad query, need suggestion

Please help me making a tech choice, I need a laptop and a tablet in next one month. I currently have a 3 year old macbook. So, I am faced with two options.
1. Buy a new ipad and stick with old MB (35000 INR)
2. Buy a budget android tablet and a new macbook air 13 inch, sell old MB (10000+75000-20000=65000 INR)
Obviously budget is not more than this. My usage are mostly lite; Internet browsing, blogging, movies, few office documents & ppt etc. Please suggest which option is better in your opinion and why??

Get yourself a snazzy lappy as what i've got, good value at about £980, it's one i can vouch for quality and speed.
As for tablet - a cheap samsung galaxy ice cream sandwich tab 2, 16 gb for about £280

Ah! The exact same query I had about 4 months back! Well, it all depends on your needs. If you need some amazing apps with an awesome display, go for the iPad. But if are not much into softwares,n use it only for watching movies, work involving data transfer, go for the mac. I'm a medico,n I wanted medical apps, so bought the iPad 3. I'm completely satisfied with it. Though some of the apps available on iOS are also available on Android, the major chunk are just cheap imitations.
