5 Things We Learnt From The Iron Man 3 Trailer

Multiple Iron Mans (Men?) means more action
Probably the best part of the trailer was watching a rogue Iron Man over Robert Downey Jr. We’re pretty sure this means that the level of action in this film will be a tad higher. The fact that there are Iron Men fighting each other than Tony Stark taking on rogue Iron Man copycats as was the case in the earlier two films, we’re pretty sure that the stunts will be something to look forward to. Stark’s beach-side house blowing into smithereens is just one example of this in the trailer.

Gwyneth Paltrow will be in mortal danger
Gwyneth Paltrow, who plays Robert Downey Jr.’s hot secretary and girlfriend Pott Peppers in the series gets a direct mention to the peril she will find herself in the film. We are guessing that the focus on her character’s mortality will drive Stark to do battle with the evil Mandarin in the third edition of the Iron Man franchise. Don’t forget to catch the line where Stark tells Peppers that he is the most important thing that he needs to protect.

Darkest movies of the series
The villain's line, “Ladies, children, shield... Some people call me a terrorist. I consider myself a teacher. Lesson number one: Heroes, there is no such thing,” suggests that the time for half-measures by Stark’s enemies are over. This time, the team of assembly line rogue Iron Men popping up on screen, with one such rogue standing directly above Tony Stark in a menacing way says that the creators have really tried to make this a part of the trilogy. As director Shane Black said, “You have to find a way to make sure that the story that’s emerging is still ongoing and, by the time you’ve finished 3, will be something resembling the culmination of a trilogy. It’s about, 'How has the story not yet been completely told?,' and I think we’re getting there.”

Iron Man will be the focus, not Tony Stark
We all love the sarcastic, funny, and above all, the cocky Tony Stark. But the trailer gives me enough reason to believe I have a deep feeling that we're not going to see a whole lot of him in this movie. Tony Stark without his trademark smug face might not make the series the same as before but if it adds vulnerability to his character, as the trailer amply suggests, then we are all for it. The Bruce Wayne-isation of another superhero seems a very likely plot story in this film.

It will build on the series
The fact that Tony Stark as well as his creation Iron Man are getting a facelift in terms of where their characters are going means that this movie will set another base from where future movies can lift off. Some new characters will definitely be introduced and some enemies and friendships will be created. Also, how this will affect the immensely successful The Avengers series will be very interesting to watch. All in all, this movie is sure to be the summer hit of 2013 and earn potloads of money for Marvel and Disney and also create a new identity for Iron Man. We’re waiting for this one with bated breath.
