Tantrums are an issue indeed- they happen when a child is restricted from expressing himself or thwarted. usually kids do grow out of them but tantrums are painful to deal with. However, here are a few ways...
Ignore! Sometimes ignoring the tantrum works best, especially since tantrums usually last less than 2 minutes, and attempts to stop a tantrum usually make it worse. When you stop responding to your child's temper tantrums, the behavior may get worse for a few days before it stops. Ignoring some temper tantrums (such as when a child has one because he or she does not want to go to bed, or is kicking, biting, and pinching) may not be possible.
Praise for calming down. After a tantrum, comfort your child without giving into her or his demands. Tell your child that he or she was out of control and needed time to calm down. Never make fun of or punish a child who has had a temper tantrum. Don't use words like "bad girl" or "bad boy" to describe your child during a temper tantrum.
Encourage taking a break from a frustrating activity or redirect the child to a task he or she has already mastered.
Be a good role model. Children often learn by watching their parents. Set a good example by handling your own frustration calmly.
read hand over mouth technique over internet and show him who is the boss or you can try other behavior techniques
Hii!!!
lemme first quote my dad:
"children never trouble parents , but parents trouble children"..
first find out if u have provided him all he needs to be healthy environment:
* Are u giving him just enough attention?? not more not less
* are u feeding him on time.. ?? hungry kids are always irritable
* is he getting enough playtime...
does he get chance to play with kids of his age??
* do u take him out??
* dos he have the toys that he needs for his age??
* do u spend enough time with him?? kids sometimes trouble to grab attention.

try giving him everything he needs.. keep him clean...
also keep talking to mothers of kids of that age... u always get numerous tips & advice.. which is very helpful... also browze in some baby websites.. which offer help..
Live amongst people in such a manner that if you die they weep over you and if you are alive they crave for your company.
