Default World's Top 10 Funniest Movies

Dracula: Dead and Loving It (1995)

Leslie Nielsen can hardly do anything wrong when it comes to the comedy genre. And as the star of this comical genius of a parody he’s exceeded even our already high expectations.

A completely hilarious spoof, it guarantees some full-bellied laughs no matter your age, gender or preference hence it’s slapstick, in-your-face humour at its best. Oh and Peter Macnicols rendition of the hilarious ‘Thomas Renfield’ definitely deserves a special mention too!

Robin Hood Men in Tights (1993)

Yet another parody, it seems remakes of age-old stories as spoofs makes for some seriously good comedy fodder. Directed by comic sensation Mel Brooks himself the film stars Cary Elwes, Richard Lewis and Dave Chappelle in his film debut. It was an instant success as soon as it came out and became something of a pop culture sensation in the 90s.

    The Big Lebowski (1998)

You only have to see it once to ensure that you’ll be going back to this knee-slapping comedy again and again over the course of your life because it just gets better every time. And once you have, there’s no chance you might be hesitant or confused as to why it is quite simply one of the funniest movies of all time!
Directed by Joel and Ethan Coen the film stars Jeff Bridges as the awesomely funny, unemployed slacker/ bowler Jeff Lebowski. Over time, the film has become a cult sensation always duly noted for it’s idiosyncratic characters, eclectic soundtrack and highly unconventional dialogue.

    Animal House (1978)

Ever coughed the word ‘Bull-shit’ or yelled “road trip!”? Well, even if you didn’t know it you were quoting National Lampoon’s Animal House. The ultimate college/frat movie and the first-of-its-kind too, this mirthful film has become so deeply embedded in our culture that its influence can be found literally everywhere. Any film about a college frat that’s come about since probably owes royalties to this original because they’re all a rip-off in one way or another.

    Ace Ventura- Pet Detective (1994)

The master of comedy himself, Jim Carrey of the never-ended facial contortions has had many memorable comic roles in innumerable movies. But only one stands out deliberately higher than the rest and that film has to be Ace Ventura, the one that launched him into superstardom.
The name of the movie says it all and it became such a smashing success that even the series that subsequently followed managed to run for a full 3 seasons!

    Annie Hall (1977)

Few directors or actors could be as loved or as unforgettable as the one and only Woody Allen. Writer and director of several other wonderfully warm and quirky films, Annie Hall is by far the one that stands out of the crowd.
A romantic comedy of adorably funny proportions, the film has been one of the most globally successful ones grossing close to 40 million USD and still counting. Something about it has enough charm to squirm its way into your heart even while regaling you with laughter right through.

    The Jerk (1979)

It’s always hard to pick the funniest out of an impressive comic repertoires like Steve Martin’s but if we really had to choose, it would probably come down to The Jerk. It was his debut as a lead actor and undoubtedly one of the funniest movies ever made where the central character is a clumsy fellow who must go through a series of truly unfortunate adventures. Can you think of anyone better than Martin to play the role of an unadjusted, unlucky man? We didn’t think so.

    The Pink Panther (1963)

This one is definitely a no-brainer. Based on the equally-hilarious Pink Panther books Jaques Clouseau (the lead character) is impossibly funny as the detective who solves mysteries by pure accidents and via a series of comical events of course.
Though there have been many movies in the name of Pink Panther it was definitely most memorably portrayed by Steve Martin, the king of comedy himself, in 1963 but the entire series should be watched by any comedy buff.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Commonly regarded as one of the funniest movies of all time, this movie represents the absolute zenith of achievement as far as legendary British comedy goes because with this they have managed to outdo themselves completely.
If you haven’t already seen this then we suggest you cancel the rest of your appointments for the next few hours, go to the nearest DVD store and pick it up NOW. It will be worth your while even if your stomach grudges you the pain you’re bound to endure from laughing for two hours straight.

Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle

No such list could be complete without an all-encompassing stoner comedy and Harold and Kumar is jus the perfect fit for that exclusive role. Director Danny Leiner hilariously captures the ‘life-changing’ journey of Korean-American investment banker Harold (John Cho) and Indian American Kumar, the ultimate underdogs.
A late night craving for White Castle hamburgers (read: munchies) leads them on the most hilarious road trip filled with some ‘deep inhaling’ half-baked (excuse the pun) thoughts and plenty of politically incorrect philosophizing. Definitely a must-see.

Very Good list of Comedy Movies. But, I was expecting foreign movies as well. because you have mentioned world's top 10 funny movies.
Regarding english movies, you have missed following

40 Years Old Virgin (This is super comedy movie, which made me fan of Steve Carell. Not only him but Paul Rudd, Seth Rogen, Romany Malco and Old Indian Man is so much funny. I also likes sexy Elizabeth Banks)

SuperBad (Extremely funny movies about high school teens. Jonah Hill is very hilarious. This movie is written by my favorite actor/writer/director Seth Rogen)

    Pineapple Express
(One the most funny and entertaining movie acted and written by Seth Rogen)

21 Jump Street ( Johan Hill and Channing Tatum done great job in this movie. This one is most funny movie of 2012)

Happy Gilmore (Adam Sandler is the king of comedy. He is the man who influenced many other actors)

My list is not complete yet, because 10 best comedy movies doesn't make justification. There are should be 100 most funny movies, then I can show you the list of 100 ultimate comedy movies of hollywood.
