Owaisi brothers appear before court in 2005 case





Sangareddy, Andhra Pradesh: Jailed MIM legislator Akbaruddin Owaisi, his elder brother Asaduddin and four other party MLAs appeared before a court in Sangareddy on Friday in an eight-year-old case of 'preventing' government officials from doing their duties.

While Akbaruddin, who is lodged in the Adilabad district jail in connection with the Nirmal 'hate speech' case was brought by police to Sangareddy town and produced before the court, his elder brother Asaduddin and other MIM legislators presented themselves before the court.

The Owaisi brothers had filed a review petition in court on February 6, contending that they were not directly involved in obstructing officials and their names were unnecessarily being dragged into the case.


The judicial magistrate court had examined the Owaisi brothers and the four party MLAs on January 28.

As the petition was still pending, counsels of the Owaisi's sought postponement of the matter, after which the court adjourned the case to February 22.

The Owaisi brothers and others including the four MIM MLAs were booked by Patancheru police in Medak for allegedly obstructing the then Medak district collector and other government officials from discharging their duties in 2005.

The case was registered on a complaint by a revenue official that MIM chief Asaduddin, his brother Akbaruddin and others had protested demolition of a place of worship at Muttangi village near Patancheru during a road widening work on the Hyderabad-Mumbai National Highway.

It was alleged that they were involved in heated arguments with then Medak district collector A K Singhal and other officers during the protest and Owaisi brothers pushed the collector.

Of the 30 accused in this case, the trial had begun against 24, while it was yet to begin against the Owaisi brothers and the four MIM legislators, since they had not attended court proceedings earlier.

One more shock to Owaisi brothers



News Details : The Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy reportedly delivered a major shock to the Owaisi brothers who are already faceing a number of cases on different issues.

The government suddenly withdrew NOC on land adjacent to the hospital of Owaisis. With this, the land being enjoyed by Owaisi brothers became government property again.

This is said to be the biggest shock given the Owaisi brothers after the MIM chief MP Asaduddin Owaisi and announced the withdrawal of support of his party to government.

There is a 3.5-acre piece of land next to the Owaisi Hospital in Bandlaguda. central government unit MIDHANI is situated next to lands. 3.5 acres of government land, 2.5 acres were annexed by the Owaisis in behalf of individuals. Although the government knew about it, no action was taken to take the lands back. Now the Kiran Kumar Reddy government issued orders to take the land back.

When Naveen Mittal was the collector of Hyderabad, he gave NOC on government lands occupied by several people and among them is the land adjacent to the Owaisi Hospital. However, when Guljar became the collector, he found that the land belonged to the government and illegally given possession of to individuals. He found it was illegal.

He Checked all relevant documents and confirmed that it was government land. He also wrote a letter to the Land Administration Department, to cancel the NOC given to the lands by the former collector.

The present General Secretary Minnie Mathew who was then the commissioner Land Administration, considered the letter seriously and ordered another investigation. She also made sure that the land belonged to the government. Now suddenly the government issued orders canceling the NOC issued in behalf of individuals, taking the land back. Owaisis who were enjoying the valuable lands rights suddenly lost it.

The MIM leaders Akbaruddin Owaisi and his brother Asaduddin Owaisi were now in a quandry as the Government has now rejected their five other applications for about 20 acres of land including the present case and also revived five other cases pending against them for rowdyism, violence and other petty offisenses.

Hate speech: Akbaruddin Owaisi's voice recorded, remand extended

The voice of jailed MIM legislator Akbaruddin Owaisi, facing charges of sedition and waging war against the nation for his alleged "hate speech," was on Tuesday recorded in Nizamabad town of Andhra Pradesh even as a court extended his judicial remand till February 26.

On February 5, Nirmal town police had got his voice recorded by Andhra Pradesh Forensic Science Laboratory (APFSL) experts in another alleged hate speech case.

Akbaruddin was brought from Adilabad District Jail, where he has been lodged since January 9, in connection with another "hate speech" case registered at Nirmal town of Adilabad, and produced before the First Additional District Magistrate (ADM) in Nizamabad town.

Multiple cases have been registered against Akbaruddin for his alleged hate speeches delivered in Nizamabad on December 8 and at Nirmal town of Adilabad on December 22 last year.

Experts from the APFSL conducted voice sample test of Akbaruddin in the court, wherein he was asked to read an Urdu newspaper and some Urdu documents.

The court also extended his judicial remand till February 26 in the case.

The recorded voice sample and the footage of the speech in which Akbaruddin allegedly made provocative remarks against a particular community in Nizamabad on December 8 last year will now be sent to CFSL Chandigarh for further verification, a senior police officer told PTI over phone from Nizamabad.

Akbaruddin, the Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen's (MIM) floor leader in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, was arrested by Nirmal police from Gandhi Hospital here on January 8.

Meanwhile, the counsel of Akbaruddin filed a bail petition in Nizamabad court which is likely to come up for hearing on February 14.

Owaisi brothers get another jolt from govt.



Hyderabad, February 14:

Cancelling the NOC issued for government land worth 30 crore rupees near Midhani RTC Bus depot, the government has given yet another jolt to its former allied party. A list of names of occupants has been published in Telugu and English newspapers in this connection.

According to the report taking a major decision principal secretary Revenue department B R Mina reversed a controversial order issued by his predecessor. This order has been issued regarding 3.5 acre land at Phisalbanda Hyderabad.


It must be recalled that on 23rd March 2010 the then collector of Hyderabad Naveen Mittal had issued NOC and handed over the valuable land to 5 persons. Of 3.5 acres of government land, 2.5 acres were annexed by the Owaisis in the name of private persons. Though the government knew about it, no action was so far taken to take the lands
back. The expensive land, was classified as 'Abadi land' in Nizam's revenue system.


Now suddenly the government issued orders canceling the NOC issued in favour of individuals owing to which Owaisis who were enjoying rights over the valuable land would suddenly lose it. However the government has not yet taken physical possession of the land in question till date.
