Anna Hazare to campign for Arvind Kejriwal’s candidates

Social activist Anna Hazare on Saturday said he will campaign only for candidates put up by Arvind Kejriwal and ruled out the possibility of supporting people from other parties.

“I will campaign only for Kejriwal’s candidates,” Hazare told reporters here. “There may be good people in other parties but who has the control?”

Criticising other political parties for indulging in politics in the name of caste and communities, the 75-year-old activist also accused them of practicing unfair means to collect donations.


He said other political parties collected huge donations from vested interests and corporates but break them into amounts less than Rs 20,000 to hide the identities of the donors.

He also accused political parties of being controlled by individuals.

“I know Kejriwal. He has not done anything for himself. He is doing everything for the country,” Anna Hazare said, reiterating that he will however examine the candidates and back them only the deserving ones.

“I will check them. If they are found to be good, if they are proper candidates, I will campaign for those candidates,” he said.

The India Against Corruption founder is on a three-day Odisha visit since Thursday. He addressed students, farmers and others.

Good decision by Anna. His support will act as control on Kejariwal from negative campaigning. Every organization fighting against corruption - social, Hindu religious or Muslim religious should come forward to support the cleans candidates. I hope Kejariwal won't give tickets to corrupt, rapist or power hungry people.

This decision is enough for Congress to go mad against him, because it will be biggest looser. Digvijay Singh will be given task of barking.

Simple they didn`t liked this support of Anna Hazare to Arvind..

Any statement Anna make these media goons just alter it a bit and put it in their news headlines to confuse the public.....

I guess there was nothing to alter in such a straight forward statement that these media guys didnt mentioned it in any of their news....

The 'fight' betwen Anna and Kejariwal is created by media. Anna only not agreed with creating political party.

IN last election in Maharashtra, Anna supported some candidates irrespective of party - Congress, NCP, Shivsena and independent, who are non-corrupt (This includes present home minister R R Patil of NCP of Sharad Pawar)
He always take stand of supporting good candidates and its effect can be seen atleast in Maharashtra.

Can someone say this is wrong approach?
