    When Coco Chanel introduced the little black dress in the early 1930s it did not receive positive feedback. While it took time for women to realise the amazing effect the simple clothing had, it was also made popular by actress Audrey Hepburn who wore it in 'Breakfast At Tiffany's' in 1961.

    Who would have though that the waiscoat with no collar that Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru sported would become a fashion statement. Made popular by the beatles in the 1960s, the Nehru Jacket is still worn with born western as well as traditional outfits.

    The original skydivers' jumpsuits were simple garments designed to insulate the body from the cold of high altitudes. But it soon became a fashion statement when singer Elvis Presley started wearing it. The garment was soon adapted by women who made it a style statement of sorts.

    The bell botom pants of the 1970s caught on the attention of the younger generation in a big way. Flared trousers made a come back in the late 1990s-early 2000 and continues to be trend.
