Thumbs up Review: New Bullet 500

    Review: New Bullet 500

Royal Enfield has priced the Bullet 500 at Rs. 1.69 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai). The Bullet 500 offers retro appeal with modern performance which makes it an excellent cruiser motorcycle.

    • Royal Enfield has re-launched the Bullet 500 which has been an icon for the company. The modern Bullet 500 uses the same engine which powers the 500cc version of the Classic and Thunderbird but without fuel injection.

    • The styling of the Bullet 500 is very retro. Round shape is dominant throughout the bike with the rear view mirrors, headlight, indicators and tail light all being round.

    • The styling of the Bullet 500 is quite appealing and the bike looks muscular. The pin stripes on the tank and long exhaust are easily the highlights. The rear mudguard hinders the design appeal of the machine a bit.

    • The Bullet 500 continues to use the same instrument cluster layout as old Bullets. You get a speedometer, odometer and voltmeter. Tachometer, trip meter and fuel meter are surprisingly missing in these modern times.

    • The switch gear is of high quality and is conventional in terms of layout. The handlebar weights reduce vibrations and the mirrors offer good visibility.

    • The seating position is very comfortable on the Bullet 500 aiding in long distance cruising. The upright position, wide handle and long seat offer good comfort. The seat could be wider though.
