Am so glad that sri lanka made us bite the dust.. After all the best team should win!!!!. The day people stop running madly after cricket will the other sports and games develop in our country.. After a whipping from bangladesh,, and now srilanka,, not only dhoni and kohli but let everybody step down!!!!!

What the hell was the strategy to win this test match? 5 bowlers!! it sounds nice and worked well too even in past in Kumble era when Azhar was captain it worked too well in Tests but than we had a stable and responsible batting line up.

But now, Rohit Sharma, Kohli and group!! in first innings 2 centuries and 1 half century made us take the lead otherwise our batting was failure!! in 2nd innings no century or half century and we got the pasting!!

Playing 5 bowlers means having sehwag, gambhir, dravid, saching, laxman, dhoni in team and also ganguly than can you balance the team. With this batting line up even if 5 bowlers scores 50 runs in total you know well that top 6 will score good. But with current crop of batsmen, its not at all expected!!

Hopefully with Murli Kartik back opening will be much more stable. But what about Rohit Sharma and even Ajinkya Rahane and Kohli? Playing 5 batsmen means 2 centuries and couple of half centuries from them every innings!!

South Africa is coming for full test series, they must be licking their lips for some quick ending matches!!

Murli Kartik? he was a spinner and is retired. uhko open karne bhejoge to ho gaya kalyan...

you have to lose a few to get into the habit of winning. its easy to lookback and criticize a strategy. but this strategy has been carved up before the series. its important that everyone in the team understands and sticks to it for a while, even if there are losses. you cant jump back and forth. a good time to re-analyze would be after the series.

I meant Murli Vijay...not Murli Kartik!!

I agree with you regarding stratigies. You have to stick with them. But was it fool proof?? Leaving out Pujara and Raina. Raina could have been handy spinner on that pitch!! And now for those spinning pitches what back up we are calling!! Stuart Binny!! Is it a joke?

This strategy will only work when as you said the batsmen will take complete and consistent responsibility!! OR when we have a strong batting line up like in past. Few big partnerships..few half centuries and spending time on pitch will do it. I think with Murli Vijay injured it would have been a nice choice to send Gambhir as an opener. Try him for a while. If he clicks it will strengthen the batting line up.

But the way we batter in 1st test match was pathetic!! I am ready to loose a few more to get it right!! but from a winning position like this!! tough to digest!!

MS Dhoni shouldn't get retirement from ODIs and T20s as of now. T20 world cup is coming next year and till then he should lead the side. He must take decision after world twenty20 2016.
