Arrow Top 100 Pure Bond Lines for 007 DieHard Fans

THIS IS MY FIRST THREAD IN MOVIES SECTION HOPE U LIKE THIS

    Number 100
    "BondÖ James Bond."
    Movie: Dr. No (1962)

Although these iconic words were first uttered in Dr. No, they have become as intrinsic to Bond films as high-speed car chases and sexual innuendos. Itís no wonder the line was recently included in an American Film Institute special celebrating the 100 greatest movie quotes of all time.

    Number 99
    "Shocking. Positively shocking."
    Movie: Goldfinger (1964)

Unlike those of us who cower in fear at the slightest hint of danger, James Bond generally becomes wittier as his situation becomes more perilous. This particular quote is delivered after agent 007 manages to escape by savagely electrocuting an assailant.

    Number 98
"I think he got the point."
    Movie: Thunderball (1965)

Bondís wit is almost as dry as his martinis. Thatís particularly evident in this vivid sequence in which he delivers a first-class quip after shooting a villain with a spear gun.

    Number 97
    "A martini. Shaken, not stirred."
    Movie: Goldfinger (1964)

Although agent 007 may laugh in the face of death, one thing he never takes lightly is his drinking. Then again, if your job involved ventilating bad guys with a Walther P99, you might turn to the bottle as well. Here he shows off his remarkable palate by ordering his signature drink.

    Number 96
Log cabin girl: "Oh James, I cannot find the words."
Bond: "Well, let me try and enlarge your vocabulary."
Movie: The Spy Who Loved Me (1977)

Whether piloting a jet pack or terminating a henchman, Bond is never at a loss for words. Here he demonstrates his command of his mother tongue yet again while enjoying a tender moment with a woman in a log cabin.

    Number 95
Sir Donald Munger: "Tell me, Commander, how far does your expertise extend into the field of diamonds?"
James Bond: "Well, hardest substance found in nature, they cut glass, suggest marriages, I suppose it replaced the dog as the girl's best friend. That's about it."
    Movie: Diamonds are Forever (1971)

Although he may be an expert in the art of seduction, Bond knows surprisingly little when it comes to the diamond industry. Here he plays up his limited knowledge with a touch of self-deprecating wit.

    Number 94
"Take a giant step for mankind."
    Movie: Moonraker (1979)

James Bond may be the only secret agent on the planet whoís just as deadly with a pun as he is with a gun. Here he shows off his killer wit as he pushes Sir Hugo Drax into an airlock.

    Number 93
Domino: "So... what sharp little eyes you've got."
James Bond: "Wait 'til you get to my teeth."
    Movie: Thunderball (1965)

In addition to having a license to kill, James Bond comes equipped with a license to thrill. Here he gives a brief glimpse of things to come when he engages in lighthearted banter with Italian beauty Dominique ďDominoĒ Derval.

    Number 92
"What? No small-talk? No chit-chat? That's the trouble with the world these days. Nobody takes the time to do a real sinister interrogation. It's a lost art."
    Movie: GoldenEye (1995)

A gentleman to the nth degree, Bond always plays by the rules and expects others to follow suit. This memorable line is delivered when Bond and Natalya Simonova are interrogated by Russian Defense Minister Dmitri Mishkin.

    Number 91
Pat Fearing: "What exactly do you do?"
James Bond: "Oh, I travel... a sort of licensed troubleshooter."
    Movie: Thunderball (1965)

Have you ever had difficulty explaining your job to strangers at a cocktail party? Bond is no different. Here he succinctly summarizes his profession as he effortlessly works the crowd.

    Number 90
"Run along now dear, man talk."
    Movie: Goldfinger (1964)

Call him misogynistic and hopelessly outdated if you like, but Bond is a man who understands that men and women inhabit very different spaces. Here he emphatically makes that point by ushering Jill Masterson out of the room with a gentle slap on her perfectly formed posterior.

    Number 89
Bond: "That gun, it looks more fitting for a woman."
Largo: "You know much about guns, Mr. Bond?"
Bond: "No, but I know a little about women."
    Movie: Thunderball (1965)

A legendary womanizer on par with Casanova himself, Bond shows off his mastery of understatement while picking up a rifle in Emilio Largo's home.

    Number 88
James Bond: "The wine is quite excellent. Although for such a grand meal I would have expected a claret."
Mr. Wint: "But of course. Unfortunately, our cellar is poorly stocked with clarets."
James Bond: "Mouton Rothschild is a claret. And I've smelled that aftershave on you before, and both times I've smelled a rat."
    Movie: Diamond Are Forever (1971)

As Her Majestyís most trusted secret agent, Bond knows there are many ways to catch a crook. Here he uses his superior knowledge of wine to expose the identity of Blofeldís effete henchman, Mr. Wint.

    Number 87
"I know the rules, and number one is 'no deals.'"
    Movie: Die Another Day (2002)

If there is one thing that Bond has learned over the years, itís that terrorists and megalomaniacs seldom keep their word. Here he shows off his savvy by sticking with his morals and refusing to make a deal with the devil.

    Number 86
Miss Caruso: "Such a delicate touch."
    Bond: "Sheer magnetism, darling."
Movie: Live and Let Die (1973)

Although many spies may save their puns for the battlefield, Bond gladly spreads his bons mots to the bedroom as well. Here he makes the most of modern technology by unzipping Miss Caruso's dress with the magnet embedded in his watch.

    Number 85
''Well, I'm afraid you've caught me with more than my hands up.''
    Movie: Diamonds Are Forever (1971)

Thereís only one thing that can interrupt Bond during intercourse, and thatís a steel-plated revolver. Here he must take an unwelcome break from seducing Plenty O'Toole when a gun is pointed directly at him.

    Number 84
Russian Lady Agent: "But James, I need you!"
    Bond: "So does England!"
Movie: The Spy Who Loved Me (1977)

The only thing more legendary than Bondís numerous conquests is his unflagging dedication to his country. This is especially evident in the filmís opening sequence when he leaves behind a mouthwatering femme fatale to save the world yet again.

    Number 83

"My dear girl, there are some things that just aren't done, such as drinking Dom Perignon '53 above the temperature of 38 degrees Fahrenheit. That's just as bad as listening to the Beatles without earmuffs!"
    Movie: Goldfinger (1964)

It goes without saying that any man who spends half his waking hours in a tuxedo is likely to have an appreciation for the finer things in life. Thatís certainly the case with Bond, who knows a thing or two about alcohol and music. This particular line is delivered to Jill Masterson as she begins to seduce him.

    Number 82
P.ussy Galore: "My name is P.ussy Galore."
James Bond: "I must be dreaming."
    Movie: Goldfinger (1964)

Bond Girls tend to get saddled with names that would make even a stripper blush, and Miss P.ussy Galore is no exception. Here Bond does his best to keep a straight face while meeting her for the first time.

    Number 81
"Now put your clothes back on, and I'll buy you an ice cream."
Movie: For Your Eyes Only (1981)

Although Bond isnít above a little romp in the sack, he does have his morals. That becomes evident in this scene when he declines the sexual advances of Olympic ice skater Bibi Dahl on the grounds that sheís young enough to be his daughter.

    Number 80
"You don't think I enjoyed what we did this evening, do you? What I did tonight was for Queen and country!"
    Movie: Thunderball (1965)

Just like the Mounties always get their man, no Bond film is complete until agent 007 gets his woman. This particular line is delivered after he finishes making love to SPECTRE secret agent Fiona Volpe. Oh, the things he does for England!

    From Bond with Love
Although much has changed since 007 made his first foray onto the big screen, his ability to capture the hearts and minds of the public has not. Twenty-one films into his remarkable career, James Bondís memorable quotes and bons mots are now ingrained in our collective vocabulary.
