Default Should Rahul Dravid Open for India?

Looking at the dismal batting performance of Men in Blue, do you think Virender Sehwag's demotion is responsible for batting debacle in DLF Cup tri-series ?

Default rahul dravid should not open for india

virendra shewag demotion may not be the sole factor for the poor batting performance of indian batting line in ongoing DLF cup. but absence of rahul dravid from the middle order is also responsible for the this poor show, the style of dravid is more suited for carrying forward of the plateform laid by the openers.
Dravid lack aggrassiveness in his batting which is very much essential for an opener. That's why shewag and sachin is the best suited pair for open the innings.

    Default Dravid should come down

I believe Rahul Dravid is best suited for middle order as his presence adds strength to the lineup even after India gets a bad start. He is a natural stabilizing force and should be utilized that way.

On the other hand Sehwag is a natural opener who can exploit initial overs' fielding restrictions better. By sending him down we are killing his natural instincts. He is not the SEHWAG we know when he comes down the order. When we have likes of Irfan and Dhoni to play that role, why the presence of Veeru is needed there?

Stats in first three matches prove my point. I hope Indian management will wake up in the penultimate match against Aussies.

    yes rahul shudnt open.
    shewag is d best option.
as d conditions r not dat much good for d batsmen, india need somone who cud stand till d end, so dravid shud batt at no3 position,
take today's match thr was no one to support sachin.
RAHUL SHUDNOT open, #3 is d best position for him
hope CHAAPPEL ko akkal aye next match pe.....

ya i 2 suggest dravid's ideal place is NO-4 let shewag and sachin open.
Dravid provides stability at his original place more.

Arrow Should rahul dravid open for india

No never. He is best suited at no 3 postion. There should not be no experimentation at no 3. .He is a perfect guy to play the likes of mcgrath & lee. India should also include powar in place of r.p singh for semifinal match against australia.

No, Sehwag's Demotion is not the main responsible, even as opener also he failed in several ocassions, take the example of the recent series, except in WestIndies, where he played some 2-3 good innings in the Lost series, he failed everytime, even in home series also. But for that Rahul should not open for the team, he is best suited at No. 3 Position, which is his actuall position rather opening.

So, if selecters select Sehwag, it is better for him to open the innings with Sachin and Rahul should come at No. 3, which may strenghten the batting line-up. :68:

    Default Rahul as opener

Dear friends, why the Indian cricket players only think for themselves after becoming captains.. Rahul Dravid is misusing his position and forcing himself as the opener.. He is Mr reliable and he should behave like that only. Aggressiveness aur Dravid ka door door tak koi rishta nahi hai.. Please send Sehwag & Tendulkar as openers and Dhoni as one down. Dravid is fit for second down.

I dont think so......Indian players can do well on any position and even they can fall on any position......These all are just time pass.....nothing else.....

Kisi par ILZAM mat lagao....position ko lekar fight karne se kuch nahin hoga.....They should play well on any given position.......that should be the spirit......

India will win and definately win.......

    Cheers for Team India!!!

i do not really agree with your views regarding the sehwag's performance, sehwag scored with 48 average in west indies tour which include score of 97 & 95.His career average is 32 with 10 tons and 23 half tons, and regarding some failures which he has in some matches can happen to any international player. But thats does not decides his talent, what decides is, how he comes out of it, and he has shown it many times by coming out of those absymal views with a blistering innings.

Cool rahul dravid should not open

we all know that we have got a world`s dangerous opener in form of sehwag . we all know what he can do to the oppositon team if he is in form . india should open with sachin and sehwag , bcoz no one in india can get fast runs in the first 15 overs like sehwag and dhoni.but dhoni is not a opener yaar . so its definately sehwag , who also scored the highest number of runs in the previous tournament against west india in their pitch .

    Default should rahul dravid open......

Rahul, as a matter of fact is disturbing the team balance now by opening the innings instead of Sehwag.Sehwag alongwith Tendulkar must open the Indian innings and on their fall comes THE GREAT WALL to steady the innings.
