Morgan Freeman, who recently survived a serious automobile accident, is splitting with his wife of 24 years. "The Dark Knight" actor and costume designer Myrna Colley-Lee have filed for divorce. The news comes on the heels of the Sunday night car crash in Mississippi in which Freeman, 71, and Demaris Meyer, 48, were passengers. The actor suffered a broken arm, broken elbow and minor shoulder injuries for which he underwent surgery.

"In light of the fact that many pictures have surfaced in print and on the Internet which has caused myself and my family great embarrassment, I felt it necessary to at least acknowledge publicly that yes indeed my wife and I have separated and I will not be commenting any further."

Once again, Hollywood stardom does not bring marital happiness. Bill Murray's wife, Jennifer Butler Murray, filed for divorce on May 12 in a Charleston, South Carolina family court, reports the Charleston Post & Courier. In the documents, she accuses the comedian of "adultery, addiction to marijuana and alcohol, abusive behavior, physical abuse, sexual addictions and frequent abandonment."
