IF TOM CRUISE and KATIE HOLMES were ever to be transported back to 1940's Hollywood, here’s what they’d look like.

The A-list couple underwent a Forties makeover for an impressive spread in the New York Times Style Magazine.






Without doubt, Katie would have given the likes of MARLENE DIETRICH and RITA HAYWORTH a run for their money in the beauty stakes.


Sporting make-up and hair in keeping with the glamorous era, the actress will send hearts racing with these black and white shots – especially in the bodies of OAP gents who remember the decade’s film babes fondly.


Tom also cuts a dashing figure in a leather jacket with upturned collar.



With ease, the actor pulls off the confident look of a typical Forties hunk who could go to war and return home with every one of his hairs still firmly in place.

Not unlike his character in Top Gun, then.






Tom evidently took a liking to his heavily-waxed hair, judging by his slicked-back appearance on a stroll around New York with daughter SURI.
Not that the little tot seemed too impressed, hiding her embarrassment by resting her head on daddy’s chest.
